Netlify's MCP server adds 2026-07-28 support and names its compatible clients

Netlify states that its MCP server already supports the 2026-07-28 specification while remaining compatible with earlier revisions. The post frames the stateless core as turning an MCP server into an ordinary HTTP workload that deploys on standard Netlify Functions, with no sticky sessions, session store, or shared state across instances.

The documented connection path is a single command, npx -y add-mcp https://netlify-mcp.netlify.app/mcp, and the post is unusually specific about client compatibility at publication: supported today in Claude.ai and Claude Managed Agents, with Claude Code support coming soon. Anthropic's own launch-day post quotes Netlify's VP of Applied AI, Sean Roberts, on the same stateless-core theme.

The post also covers the revision's extensions framework, with MCP Apps and Tasks as the first official extensions, and shows an interactive seat-picker UI served by a remote MCP server rendering inside Claude as an MCP Apps example.

An evidence note for the tracker: the claim rests on the vendor's blog post alone. There is no version number, release page, or changelog entry behind it, which is thinner backing than the Cloudflare or GitHub adoption records from the same week carry.
